Want to start a new family holiday tradition (or maybe you already have)? It's called "Elf on the Shelf" and we think you'll get hooked! I spotted it last year at our Hallmark store but felt Owen might not quite understand the silliness! He's geared up this year - and if you visit the website attached to the posting title, you'll see why!
Here's how it works. Your elf comes to visit your home during the holidays. He watches over the home and reports back good deeds to Santa each night. The next morning he comes back and sits in a new location. Your kids get to search him out each day (unless of course, you forget to move him!). On Christmas Eve he returns to the North Pole and stays their until next year.
The package includes a story book that explains how the tradition works and a little elf (somewhat evil looking to me, but nevertheless). There is also room in the book to name your elf. Ours is yet to be determined as we're trying to avoid names like "Lightning McQueen" or "Thomas" and we're still waiting for our package to arrive!
