Owen is all about the color blue. He won't pass up a gumball, but sure is glad when he scores a blue one. Ice cream - vanilla with a blue swirl in it. Clothing choice - as long as it has blue in it - it'll do. New paint color in his bedroom - you guessed it - blue. He's even asked for a "blue" themed birthday party this year.
He's already decided he'd like to be a baseball player this year for Halloween. When I asked him what team - his response, "the blue team." My recent TJ Maxx find was a clearance tagged New York Yankee hat in a kid size - it's blue, it was on clearance for $5 (and during the no-tax weekend in New York), and we've got one part of a Halloween costume found.
Mike was concerned about this new hat that pretty much stays on this kid's head until he goes to bed (he knows to take it off at the dinner table, too darn cute when he just automatically does it without being told). According to Mike - your first team inspired hat stays with you for life - apparently it's a known fact. Mike's first hat - the Orioles - case in point - his "team." He was just hoping his little buddy would follow suit on this.
We have a Yankee fan in da House!
