Our Boy is SEVEN

Capturing photos of him requires the fine skills of a ninja or a Jedi - whichever you prefer. He asked for a Science Party this year . . . a silly, messy science party to be exact. Sixteen kiddos, some daring friends to run stations, and a ready to go vaccum cleaner and we were set. We made high bouncing balls, slime, made snow, and watched a few volcanos erupt. It was a crazy, awesome party!

The kiddos were handed swim goggles (hey 25 cent clearnace swim goggles work just as nice as the real deal!) and put in groups. They went from station to station every 15 minutes or so - I passed out Play Foam (found on Zulily for half the cost of anywhere else) so they would have something to fumble with for wait time on any given experiment - that worked out great! This stuff is soooooo fun!

We ran four different stations:
1) SLIME - the BORAX and white glue version (not oobleck)and got to choose a food coloring dye - I think the Borax version has better consistency and last longer - it was a hit with the kiddos.

2) SNOW - the Steve Spangler kit on his website sells the materials resonably, but I scored ours at a local toy store and was able to get enough products for 16 kiddos for under $20

3) VOLCANO - 2 liter bottle and baking powder - the shrills when it erupted and our son's "favorite" station

4) BOUNCING BALLS - I was lucky enough to purchase the kits on clearance for $2.50 each at Target. Used four kits for 16 kids and have plenty left over. They sell the kits at Walmart as well.

The house was a complete disaster during and after the party - there was just no way around it! So worth it . . . he had an awesome time and we had a great time throwing it!
