The Great Pumpkin

Yea, yea - I know it's far too early to be thinking about Halloween, but let's face it - I haven't been much of a blogger as of late and the costumes are in the stores so I'm joining in - at least on the planning stage of joining in that is. Owen is mentally making a list for Christmas and Brinn is always ready for a celebration that involves chocolate cake - even if the closest date to celebrating with cake is October.

This is likely my last year to choose Brinn's costume so I'm choosing carefully. Here are my pics so far:

I mean, why not join the cupcake craze? Available at PotteryBarnKids.com

Totally brings me back to elementary school. Available at buycostumes.com

It seems owls are EVERYWHERE in the home decorating stores. Available at PotteryBarnKids.com

This already looks like her! Available at buycostumes.com

As for Owen - I already know that he really has no interest in dressing up. Would rather avoid the situation and have treats out of the basket of goods that we give out (aren't they already all of our favorites anyway? Why do all that work when what you want is right here in front of you? Such a logical thinker!). He has made his choice however - and quite surprisingly it's Luke Skywalker from "Star Wars." The surprising part is his only experience with Star Wars is a Star Wars Lego DS game, his cousin Connor's interest, a Star Wars Lego set from his Uncle Noel & Aunt Holly, and a glimpse of a Star Wars characters parading around Disney World. He's never seen a movie and if an add or commercial comes on - he looks the other way. He doesn't even get the reference in the Toy Story scene of Buzz and Zurg. No arguing here though - Luke it is.

My choice for Owen:

Even I could make this costume and we so, so, so look forward to movie night at Mike's store when they show the Charlie Brown cartoons. Available at: a felt store nearest you!

I also love the idea of dressing him up as a cookie and Brinn as a carton of milk. We have a huge love of milk with cookies in this house. Just ask Mike. Available at PotteryBarnKids.com

We've got some time to decide, I know. Let's hope I make a wise decision!
