Building a Girl's Library

If you shop at Kohl's, you may have noticed the books that greet you at the entrance. It's Kohl's Cares for Kids - when you purchase these books, 100% of the net profits are donated to support children's health and education initiatives nationwide. The cost for each book is $5 - a fraction of what these books cost in a major department or book store.

Children's books are a part of our every day life. Owen looks forward to stories before bed, and Mike and I enjoy reading them to him. How lucky is Brinn to own these books by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle? How lucky was I to meet Eric Carle a few years ago and have him sign Owen's copy of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"? He's a Syracuse native - and a cross between meeting a kind-hearted Grandpa and Santa Claus. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?" is still one of Owen's favorites. We're already passing on the love of books to Brinn.

Whether you need to build a library for your own kids, want to help build one for your grandchildren, want to donate books to another organization, or I must admit - use them to read yourself - you can't beat $5 - considering that's about what a paid for my mocha today.
