I've wanted to learn how to drive stick shift ever since I got my license. My trainers didn't give up on me (Mike and Amy) - I just quit. I never got it, never will. Sorta like blog designs. I've tried to personalize ours, reading up on HTML and widgets. A few reasons why I gave up. First, I was staying up too late trying to figure it out; it was aggravating my carpel tunnel with all the clicking, cutting, and pasting, and again, I was staying up too late trying to figure it out. I've got the scrap booking part with the photos - I just don't get HTML or how to import my design to our blog.
So, here you have it. We were directed to Blog Overs With Love by Mark & Rebecca Radicchi a while back. It's a group of blog designers who have collaborated to do blog makeovers in exchange for a donation that helps children in orphanages in China and Taiwan. With all the talk of China lately (and not just because of the Olympics - ah hem, Noel) who better to design our blog then one of their designers. Our donation went to the StarFish Foster Home. You can read about this organization at www.chinesestarfish.org. We were paired with Stephanie who directed me to choose a digital scrap booking kit from a variety of online shops and here you have it - our new look. I was going for something that wasn't too girly. It's hard to stay away from the flowers, bows, and pretty pink prints - but next time around (and there will be a next time), look out! I chose this kit from www.sweetshoppedesigns.com figuring who doesn't love bubbles?
If you are looking for a blog over - visit www.blogoverswithlove.blogspot.com. They are no longer designing blogs for donations, but many of the designers have their own businesses to get you started. Click on one of their pictures to learn more. I choose Danielle to design my blog I use for teaching (www.mrsdempsey3.blogspot.com). You can visit her site at www.blogsbydanielle.blogspot.com. You might end up on a waiting list - but her designs are too darn cute! I understand Stephanie just started up her blog design business as well. Be sure to visit her link located on our blog!
